Weekend Rundown

Wow! This last weekend was FULL, and really great! Here's what we did:

Friday (it's great to have Fridays off!):

I slept in until about 9:30, cleaned the house, and played Zelda on the Wii.
Then Peta and Jenny (my British friends that Kent and I know from our days at BYU) came over and we had a leisurely lunch at Paradise Bakery (best cookies in the world). Then I took Peta and Jenny to the Capitol for a tour.

At 4:00 we met up with Kent and dragged him to "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" (I wouldn't recommend it - shallow character development and too dirty for my tastes). Then we headed over to the Red Rock Brewery for dinner. Yummm-o!

It was GREAT seeing Peta and Jenny. They are sweet gals, SO fun, and we both love them alot.

Saturday:
Poor Kent had some training for work from 9 AM to 12 PM (what a way to spend a Saturday). So I slept in, did the laundry, and put together some chicken and potatoes in the crock pot for dinner.

At 2 PM, Kent and I met my VT comp, Dinah, at our garden plot at Wasatch Community Gardens by the state fair park. We weeded and put 4 barrels of compost on our plot -- all in the pouring rain. Literally pouring.

4 PM, we got home and ate my hot crockpot dinner.

6:30 PM - headed over to Abravanel Hall for the Utah Symphony's POPS CONCERT "Bravo Broadway". It was AMAZING!!! They had 3 guest singers who have all been on Broadway, and I was completely blown away! FABULOUS.

The guest singers were:
- Lisa Vroman (www.lisavroman.com)
- Rachel York (www.rachelyork.net)
- Doug LaBrecque (douglabrecque.theatre-musical.com)

10 PM - got home, finished up my RS lesson for Sunday, and got out my coupons

11 PM - Kent and I went grocery shopping at Smiths (I guess the old BYU habit of going grocery shopping on Saturday night at 11 PM dies hard some weekends).

Sunday
I taught a lesson in RS on finance. I thought it went well, although my time ran out so quickly that I didn't get to go over how a budget works. Oh well!

Took a two hour nap (yay!).

Made cornbread and enchiladas, and cherry crisp. Yum!
