My New Favorite Store: Rod Works

I started Saturday morning out to breakfast in Sandy at this little cafe next to my high school with my mom and sisters. YUMMM-O! I forgot how much I like pancakes -- I haven't had them in so long!

After breakfast, we went to my new favorite home decor store called, Rod Works. I bought a plate holder (see above 'before' and 'after' photos) for my kitchen on clearance for $6! And wow did that $6 brighten up my kitchen with a splash of color from my small red square plates!

I can't wait to go back. I'll keep you updated on my purchases.

Friday Night Date: The Marriage of Figaro

Kent took me on a fabulous date on Friday night! We went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill (and yes, I did have a $5 coupon that I found in my coupons ... he he), then we walked over to the Capitol Theater and saw The Marriage of Figaro, presented by the Utah Opera. It was SO good!

It was kinda long (started at 7:30, ended at 10:30), but the singers were fabulous, the plot was engaging and funny (it was an opera buffa; aka, comedic opera), and the music was beautiful.

Afterwards, I told Kent I'd like to go back and see a German opera, but he said, "NO! No Wagner!!". Apparently Kent really doesn't like Wagner. :)

My New Hobby: Couponing

So now that I run my own household, I've finally taken up the hobby of couponing, and I've been having fun with it. I like not spending moneys that I don't have to spend.

We went grocery shopping on Saturday, and saved $15 on coupons alone (that doesn't take into account all of the 'on sale' items that we bought in lieu of the regularly priced items that we may have purchased instead -- the $15 number is purely how much we saved on coupons).

The way I see it, if we save $15 off our grocery bill a week, that's $60/month and $720/year.
Anyhoo hoo-- I made this HANDY little paper accordian to put all of my coupons in. It categorizes my coupons for easy finding, and it folds up and fits right into my purse or my hot little hand at the grocery store.

SO! If you want to be a coupon shopper, but don't want to look like a coupon shopper, follow this link <http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/howto/ideas/envaccordion.html> and build one of your own. :)

Happy shopping! :)
