Sister Sleepover!

With Kent being out of town, my beautiful little sister Sherry and I had the chance to have a sleepover at my apartment.

I picked her up from school (BYU SL) at 6:30, and we headed down to Chilis. Yumm ... Chilis. And yes, we did splurge and get the Paradise Pie for dessert. :)

Then we went to the redbox and rented "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandler. It was a funny movie - we both liked it alot.

We headed to bed around 11. Sherry said "But it's only 11!", while I was saying, "Man, it's late - it's 11!"

We had pancakes and eggs this morning for breakfast then I dropped her off to trax.

Sherry is a sweetheart, and she puts up with me better than anybody. :)

Thanks for a fun night, Sher bear!! :)

Happy 6 Month Anniversary!

April 22, 2009.

Well. We made it ... to the 6 month mark! :)

It's weird to think that Kent and I were married 6 months ago today! Neither of us can believe that it's only been 6 months, because it feels like it has been much longer.

In honor of our 6th month, here are a few reasons why I love this kid.
(Dear, hopefully this won’t harm your, as you say, "street cred").

Kent:

- is faithful
- is thoughtful
- is smart
- is honest
- is responsible and dependable
- is ambitious
- is a hard worker

- is encouraging of me and my goals/ambitions
- has a witty, quick sense of humor
- is fun to be with
- makes me laugh

- laughs at my jokes, and 'gets' my sense of humor

- is handsome (look at that picture up above!)
- lets me rant to him
- sends me a sweet email every morning
- does the dishes after dinner, and tidies up the kitchen
- makes the bed in the morning
- respects the fact that I “don’t do bathrooms”, and will clean it without complaint
- will watch chick-flicks, the food network, and HGTV with me, again without complaint
- gives me have the remote (if that's not love, what is?)
- likes doing taxes!!!!
- gives me flowers
- is adventurous, and in his quest to do new things gets me to try new things
- goes out of his way for me every day
- is respectful

Happy Anniversary!
Update: Kent surprised me at work by sending me this LOVELY bouquet. He remembered! ;)

Only 2,200 Miles Away

Kent is on a business trip to Connecticut this week. He left on Sunday morning at 7:10 AM, and he doesn't get back home until Friday night at 9:10 PM.

He told me that the client he is working at is a few miles away from a McDonalds' hamburger bun factory, so everything smells like syrup. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing. :)

Here's to hunkering down for a long week, counting down the days to Friday.

Takin' a Crack at Gardening

Kent and I are teaming up with my VT comp and planting a garden this year! My VT comp, Dinah, has an organic community garden plot that is 3 ft/32 ft out by the Salt Lake County Fairgrounds.

Last Saturday, Kent, Dinah and I went to the garden and did some weeding for 3 hours. And yes, I was sore for a few days following. :)

Here's what we are planting this year:
- tomatoes
- cucumbers
- jalepeno peppers
- onions
- basil
- cilantro
- sunflower
- marigolds
- chives
- crookneck yello squash

I'll keep you posted on how it goes!

ReAL Salt Lake Game -- First of the Season

Last Thursday (April 2, s009) we were given tickets to the first ReAL soccer game of the season at the ReAL stadium in Sandy.
It was cold the entire time, and it rained A LOT during the last 30 minutes or so of the game. Luckily though, Kent and I stayed nice and warm inside on a comfy leather couch in a box suite.
My favorite part of the game? DEFINATLY the baklava!

Kent's New Church Calling

Kent got called in to meet with the Stake President on Tuesday night, and came out as the Assistant Ward Clerk in our ward.

I think Kent must have "WARD CLERK" stamped on his forehead, because he was the Exec Ward Secretary at our BYU ward, then Assistant Ward Clerk at his ward in Chicago, and now in the Capitol Hill First Ward.

I have a pseudo calling right now. I was asked to be the choir pianist for the Easter program this coming Sunday. We've had about 5 rehearsals, so I think I'm out of a calling after this Sunday! Not too shabby ...
